UPPER CAPE & MARTHA'S VINEYARD - SELF GUIDED PHOTO WORKSHOP E-BOOK

$20.00

The goal of the Self-Guided Workshop Series is to eliminate the time spent finding and scouting out locations and allowing you to spend more time photographing beautiful landscapes. I have spent hundreds of hours scouting out locations, first with the many online tools and then visiting the location in person, in some cases multiple times. The images are from some of my favorite locations and the photo data in the e-book is meant to represent a starting point, but since every day brings different weather, lighting, colors and opportunities, I trust you will quickly find your own representation of the scene.

Besides the images, the following information is included:

Description of the location

  • GPS and/or address of the parking and the location linked to Google Maps

  • Trail information including length of time, difficulty and anything unique that exists from where you park to the photo location

  • Best time of the year to visit

  • Best time of day to visit

  • Optimal conditions/weather

  • Recommended photo gear

  • Complete list of settings for images

  • Links to landscape tutorials

The Upper Cape is the most accessible portion of the Cape. It is the first place you hit when you cross the canal on either the Sagamore or Bourne Bridge. Upper Cape Cod is the common name for the area of the Cape closest to the mainland. Some of the major towns are Sandwich, Falmouth, and Woods Hole. This area doesn’t have the glamour of Provincetown or other well-known Cape Cod communities, and for that reason you can enjoy the charms of this famous peninsula without the crowds you might encounter in the “Lower Cape” or “Outer Cape.”

Sandwich is a delightful town with gorgeous public gardens and a famous boardwalk that spans a wide salt marsh from a parking area to the beach. Woods Hole is the home of the famous oceanographic institute. Falmouth has a wonderful main street, a fantastic harbor and a long and interesting coast line. Beaches of the Upper Cape touch upon the calmer, protected waters of Cape Cod Bay and the rougher waters of Buzzards Bay and Nantucket Sound. Like many places on the Cape, turning down one of the many backroads produces hidden gems and throwbacks to yesteryear.
